Thanks so much for the daily deviation!

This character started out as a sketch in my sketchbook. As some can tell, I have a passion for underwater creatures and environments. This was an experiment in Photoshop as far as painting techniques. The character is my own work, but the background is a manipulated photograph I found on google (note: this is the first and only work I used a photograph - after completing this, I decided it would be more rewarding to paint the background myself).

This creature is part of a species I am creating. They have a story that I will reveal through my future illustrations! One day I may start a graphic novel, but only once I have a developed style...
